Installation at Atelier014, Utrecht.

In the installation ROOM FOR FEW, I continued a research of the presentation of performative work in the gallery space. ROOM FOR FEW  functions as the realization of a thought-experiment – multiple copies of works by artist Franz Erhard Walther are placed in a small space. Walther is most known for his fabric performance-based works, which are activated by the participation of the viewer. How do we interact with these works now that we are allowed to touch them but there isn’t quite enough space to perform the work in the traditional sense? What do these restrictions bring us in terms of re-defining the museum space?
